My career here has exceeded my wildest imagination.” |
Zach Strief was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he spent the majority of his youth. Strief began his football career as a stand out at Milford High school and continued on to play for Northwestern University. Strief graduated with a degree in Communications from Northwestern.
In 2006 the New Orleans Saints selected Strief in the 7th round of the NFL Draft, kicking off a 12 year career in New Orleans. Strief spent his entire career in the Crescent City protecting Drew Brees and played on the Super Bowl team in 2010. During his time with the Saints, Strief’s teammates elected him captain five times. Strief acted as the Saint’s NFLPA representative for four years and received the media’s most friendly Saint award twice. Beginning a career off of the field, Strief, alongside a group of partners, started Port Orleans Brewing Co, in May of 2017. He officially retired from football in March of 2018, but after only four months away from the gridiron, he returned: this time, as a broadcaster. In July of 2018 Strief officially accepted the position of Voice of the Saints. |
